Our marine finfish hatchery provides a pristine, controlled environment for your research, featuring a newly remodeled larval rearing system. The hatchery and live feeds area use water sterilized with ozone, UV, or both, ensuring the highest water quality for optimal larval health and development.
Our facility includes:
Tanks: Four 2.5 MT self-cleaning tanks to minimize maintenance and provide a clean environment for your cultures.
Live Feeds: We can provide up to 1 billion rotifers daily, as well as first and second-instar artemia from our on-site cold banks, ensuring a consistent and reliable food source.
Our senior staff, with extensive commercial experience in Seriola larval rearing, have been present for almost all on-site runs, providing unparalleled expertise to support your projects.
-
Our facility includes over 50 tanks ranging from 2.5 to 50 metric tons, allowing for experiments at multiple scales. Our current inventory includes:
4 × 2.5 MT self-cleaning tanks
30 × 4 MT tanks
9 × 10 MT tanks
2 × 50 MT tanks
Additional tanks are available upon request. All tanks can be covered and shaded to prevent escapes, reduce bird predation, and minimize algae growth. Regenerative blowers provide aeration across the entire facility.
-
All tank systems operate using physically filtered surface seawater to ensure reliable flow-through.
Filtered deep-sea water and precision temperature control are available on a limited basis and can be reserved or adapted for specialized projects.
Raw deep-sea water is also available but is restricted to seaweed research to prevent biosecurity risks.
-
Our experienced on-site team handles all daily maintenance, allowing you to focus on your research. We are also able to collaborate on custom modifications to meet your specific project needs.
-
A dedicated production area supports seaweed-focused research. Facilities include:
Rectangular tanks
Sun tubes
A flume system
This infrastructure allows controlled growth of limu in nurseries and offshore simulated environments.
-
Our modular systems use a multi-stage approach to minimize pathogen transfer and ensure pristine, biosecure seawater for your experiments. Our filtration process includes:
Coarse strainers (~900 µm)
Sand filters (~20 µm)
Cartridge filters (to 5 µm)
Our hatchery and live feeds areas further enhance water quality with ozone and/or UV sterilization.
Our Tank Farm
Our state-of-the-art 0.6-acre tank farm provides unparalleled flexibility and security for your research. With over 50 tanks and three independent filtration systems, we can support multiple replicate experiments simultaneously while ensuring strict biosecurity.
Farm features:
